Venue and Transportation

Poitiers and the Futuroscope Technopole are situated in the west central part of France, between Paris (300 km) and Bordeaux (200 km).

By TGV high-speed train (informations)

From: 

• Paris downtown Montparnasse station (1h40)
• Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle International Airport TGV station (2h15)
• Bordeaux station (1h45)
• La Rochelle station (0h50)

You may stop at:

• Poitiers downtown (downtown station)
• Poitiers-Futuroscope station (close to the workshop and hotels location but not so many daily connexions)

From the railway station, to go the Futuroscope Technopole and Plaza Hotel, you may use:

• Bus (~22-30 min from Poitiers downtown and 8 min from Poitiers-Futuroscope TGV station)

Someone wil be present in the train station (main hall) within the following time ranges:

    16h30 - 17h00

    18h30 - 19h00.

If you arrive out of this ranges, you can take the Vitalis town bus (line E - direction Futuroscope - "Gare SNCF Grand Cerf" bus stop) at 9h35, 11h57, 13h23, 17h50, 21h56 : stop at the "1ere Avenue" bus stop (trip of about 30 minutes), in front of the Plaza and Alteora hotels entrances - You can buy ticket in the bus (1,3 Euros).
you can take a taxi in front of the train station main hall (likely around 20 - 35 Euros?)

on Monday, July, 1st:
Phd students will be present in the main hall of the train station within the following time ranges:
    11h45 - 13h00
    13h45 - 14h15
    16h30 - 18h00
    18h00-19h00

They will help you to find the bus station, take the right bus (line 1 or 1E, direction Futuroscope-"Gare SNCF Grand Cerf" bus stop) and they will give you a bus ticket. You will have to stop at the "1ere avenue" bus stop, in front of the Plaza and Alteora hotels entrances (trip of about 20-30 minutes). Depending when you arrive, they will accompany you in the bus.

Someone will be present in the main hall of the train station at 19h30 - 20h00 to transport people arriving at this tim.

If you arrive out of these time ranges or another day, you can take the Vitalis bus (line 1 or 1E, direction Futuroscope - "Gare SNCF Grand Cerf bus stop) by yourself. You will have to stop at the "1ere avenue" bus stop, in front of the Plaza and Alteora hotels entrances (about 20-30 minutes). You can buy ticket in the bus (1,3 Euros).
You can take a taxi in front of the train station main hall too (likely around 20 - 35 Euros?) 

By airplane (informations)

 Poitiers-Biard airport is connected with few European cities 

From the airport, to go the Futuroscope Technopole, you may use:

By car:

 The hotels and the workshop conference center CNAM-IFMI are situated close to the A10-E5 motorway (take the N°28 "Futuroscope" exit).

Workshop location : CNAM-IFMI building

In the Futuroscope Technopole, the CNAM-IFMI building (building with a triangle shape ; at the green A mark in the map below) is at the intersection of the Boulevard Lavoisier and Avenue Gustave Eiffel (city: Chasseneuil du Poitou). It is close to the University of Poitiers set of buildings (SP2MI), nearby the hotels Plaza and Alteora.
